IHT – Innovative Home Technology, Lda., commonly known as IHT, is a Portuguese company engaged in the development, production and marketing of wood-plastic composite solutions for the construction industry, based in Soure, Coimbra, Portugal.[1] It was founded in 2009 and is owned by Efapel, a Portuguese manufacturer of low-voltage electrical products, and by its managing director, Marco Duarte.[2] IHT is currently led by Marco Duarte as CEO.[3]
The company specialises in the manufacture of composite decking, facade cladding, fencing and urban garden systems, marketed under the brands CDECK, CWALL, CFENCE and CGARDEN.[1]
History
IHT was founded in 2009 in Soure, in the district of Coimbra. Since its inception, the company has been dedicated to the development of composite flooring, cladding, fencing and urban garden systems, having launched the CDECK brand in the same year, which became its main product range.[1]
In 2017, IHT was recognised by the Centro Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR Centro) as a gazelle company, a distinction awarded to young companies with sustained annual growth above 20%.[4]
In 2020, IHT announced a €20 million investment in the launch of CGARDEN, a modular urban garden featuring an integrated system for planting, composting, rainwater harvesting and solar-powered irrigation.[2]
Products
IHT develops and manufactures four main product lines, all featuring a patented installation system:
- CDECK — composite decking for outdoor spaces, available in the CDECK Original and CDECK WUUDE ranges.
- CWALL — composite cladding for indoor and outdoor facades.
- CFENCE — composite fencing for residential and commercial spaces.
- CGARDEN — modular urban garden, launched in 2020.[2]
International presence
IHT exports to more than 30 countries, including European markets (Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Ireland, among others), the Middle East (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar) and Portuguese-speaking countries (Angola, Cape Verde and East Timor).[3]
