Hunter Mecum

Hunter Mecum (born February 12th, 2001) is an American content creator. He rose to popularity over his tenure for the Utah Utes men's basketball team, and through his unusual last name of "Mecum".

In the 2022–23 Utah Utes men's basketball season, Hunter averaged 1.0 minutes per game in 2 games played. He was on the team from 2019-2023.

Content career

Mecum's largest post on Instagram reached 295 thousand likes, with over six thousand one hundred and six reposts, and 277 thousand shares as of February 14th, 2026. The post featured Eastern Michigan Eagles football linebacker Noah Knigga. The two did a jersey swap which would ultimately become one of the most popular jersey swaps in sports at the time, also becoming one of the most popular memes at the time.

During the 2026 Super Bowl LX Fan Experience, Hunter would obtain a media pass to create content. This became one of the most viewed stints of his career. During his time at the experience, he would ask sports creators to give him feedback on his last name, which was printed at the back of his Utah Utes basketball jersey. One of his most viewed videos of this time was with Pat McAfee and Stephen A. Smith.

Mecum hosts 30 Second Sports, a sports podcast on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.

Mecum streams on Twitch as meekie_boy. He posts on Youtube as meekie_boy as well.

Mecum is known for being a New England Patriots fan.
