Henry Lee Rodgers (April 6, 1903 – February 4, 1985)[1][2] was an American lawyer who served as a justice of the Supreme Court of Mississippi from 1961 to January 31, 1976.
In the 1960 election, Rodgers challenged incumbent James Garrott Holmes, then 77, noting that if Holmes were re-elected he would be 85 by the end of his term. On June 8, 1960, Rodgers defeated Holmes in the Democratic primary election by 28,918 votes to Holmes's 27,242.[3]\
Rogers, a native of Philadelphia, graduated from Mississippi College and earned a law degree at the University of Mississippi Law School in 1928. He served as a district attorney and as a judge in the circuit court of the 5th District before his election to the high court in 1960.[1]
Rodgers ran unopposed for reelection in 1968, and retired at the beginning of the final year of his term in 1976.[3]
