GhostBed is an American mattress and sleep-products company headquartered in Plantation, Florida. Founded in 2015 by mattress manufacturer Marc Werner, the company operates primarily through direct-to-consumer sales and produces foam and hybrid mattresses, pillows, adjustable bed bases, and related sleep products.
History
Ghostbed was founded in 2015 by Marc Werner, founder and CEO of Nature’s Sleep, as an e-commerce extension of his company as it began expanding into online sale channels in 2010s.[2][3]
Business model
Ghostbed owns six factories and nine warehouses across the United States, and two distribution centers in Canada.[2]
The company operates primarily as a direct-to-consumer brand targeted at younger generation, selling its products through its website and online marketplaces.[3] By 2023, the company expanded into retail through partnerships with furniture retailers.[4][5]
In 2016, GhostBed began selling products in the United Kingdom through Amazon.[6]
Products and technology
The mattress line was designed in 2007.[2] The company sells foam and hybrid mattresses, pillows, adjustable bed bases and other sleep accessories with a focus on cooling components.[2]
In 2017, Marc Werner was granted a patent for cooling pillow.[7]
In 2022, GhostBed partnered with professional tennis player Venus Williams on a co-branded mattress collection.[1][8] Next year, the company partnered with massage chair manufacturer Cozzia, introducing the first massaging mattress, the Ghost Massage Bed.[9][10][11]
