Gerd Kodanik Gerd Kodanik is an Estonian cycling technical specialist and Technical Performance Manager working with the UCI WorldTeam Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe. He has been involved in professional road cycling since the early 2000s and is known for his work in technical management, equipment development, and performance optimisation across WorldTour and development teams.

Early involvement in cycling Kodanik began cycling in 1992. Although he never competed as a professional rider, he transitioned into team support roles and joined his first Estonian Continental team, Kalev Chocolate Team, in 2003 as a mechanic. He later worked as a mechanic for the Estonian national team, including at the UCI Road World Championships in Salzburg.

Professional career Kodanik worked for several UCI Continental teams before joining Team NetApp–Endura in 2013, where he began working under team manager Ralph Denk. The team later became BORA–hansgrohe. In 2018, Kodanik transitioned from the role of mechanic to the technical management side of the team. Over time, his responsibilities expanded to include technical coordination, equipment development, and performance-related projects. He is currently employed as Technical Performance Manager at Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe, working closely with riders, coaches, and equipment partners.

Technical and performance work Kodanik's work focuses on the integration and development of bicycles, components, apparel, and protective equipment in cooperation with multiple international brands. Youth and development programs Kodanik serves as the main technical manager for the team's Rookie and U-19 development programs. In addition to his WorldTour role, he is responsible for all equipment across the WorldTour, Rookie, and U-19 teams. Under his technical leadership, the development programs have achieved numerous notable results at international junior and development levels.
