Draft:Gentsomes Golf Format

Gentsomes Golf format was invented in early 2000s by David Gent, who was the Captain of Golf Management Victoria (GMV) at the time.

The format was introduced for a GMV member/guest golf event at Peninsula Golf Club, where 150 golfers were listed to play.

Rather than playing the standard teams Ambrose event, to provide players with opportunity to enjoy the course and to avoid slow play, the format was trialled.

Due to the success of the event, many private golf clubs throughout Australia have introduced the format into their annual calendars.

It has proven to be a very popular teams event since it’s inception and continues to grow throughout Australia.
