Comment: See WP:MUSICBIO - we're probably not the best place for emerging talent. In addition Spotify can't be used as a source, and we need much better sources overall. It's also not permitted to have direct URLs in the article text, they have to go via references. All facts that can be questioned need a reliable source in line per WP:BLP. GCT (born November 28, 2008), otherwise known as GCT HUA, is an emerging singer, songwriter, and businessman. He is known for his recent EP release Ave Maria: In Two Lights, as well as his cover series "The Epistles Project: Live"
Life and career
Early life
GCT was born on November 28, 2008, in Shanghai, China.
GCT was raised within multiple religious traditions. As a child, he attended the St. Ignatius Cathedral with his mother, where he was a part of the church's youth choir.
GCT's interest in music and performing grew after he won a school talent show at the age of ten by singing Bruno Mars' "Count On Me". Throughout his primary, secondary, and high school years, GCT took part in school and community theatre productions, where his talent as an all-encompassing performer was further developed.
In summer 2025, GCT completed a five day residency period at Kartel Wine Bar, during which The Epistles Project: Live was recorded[1]. Later that year, selected audio recordings of songs from the residency was uploaded to Youtube exclusively. The studio bonus track, Ave Maria, was distributed by Sony Music Entertainment on November 28, 2025.
On December 24, 2025, GCT's debut EP, Ave Maria: In Two Lights, was released internationally[2]. The EP contained the original studio version of Ave Maria, as well as an acoustic version of the same song. Production of the song was overseen by Iconography Entertainment, and distributed via ROC Nation Distribution.
Artistry
Influences
GCT has named Michael Jackson as his most prominent musical influence. He considers Jackson Wang as his biggest role model, due to their shared Asian heritage. He had also credited Beyoncé as a major inspiration, praising her cultural impact and her role as a businesswoman.
GCT's other musical influences include Bruno Mars, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, Sade, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston.
Musical style
GCT's music is primarily R&B, and pop, and also incorporates elements of hip-hop, soul, funk, and gospel.
