Flower Tree Foundation
Founded: 2026 Founder: Dr. Michelle-Marie Heinemann Type: Nonprofit organization Purpose: Public art, philanthropy, cultural enrichment Headquarters: United States Founder and Artist: Dr. Michelle-Marie Heinemann
The Flower Tree Foundation is an American nonprofit 501(c)(3) arts organization founded by Dr. Michelle-Marie Heinemann, an artist known for creating the flower tree sculptures.[1][2] The foundation supports the development, installation, and donation of large-scale public sculptures.[3]
The organization works with universities, cultural institutions, municipalities, parks, and private donors to place flower tree sculptures in public environments.[4]
Donation to New College of Florida
In May 2025, before the Flower Tree Foundation was formally established, Heinemann donated a Flower Tree sculpture to New College of Florida in Sarasota, Florida. The sculpture, titled “Lady Banyan,” is part of Heinemann’s Daisy Series and stands approximately 9 feet 6 inches tall with a base bringing the total installation height to more than 11 feet.[5]
The sculpture was officially unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 21, 2025, hosted by President Richard Corcoran at the Keating Center on the New College campus.[6]
The sculpture was dedicated in honor of the New College graduating class of 2025 and “…symbolizes strength, growth, and enduring beauty, themes central to the Flower Tree artistic concept.”[7]
Sponsorship of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens
The Flower Tree Foundation has participated in philanthropic partnerships supporting nonprofit cultural institutions in Sarasota, Florida. In 2026, the foundation served as a lead sponsor of the “Garden to Plate” Wine Dinner held at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.[8][9]
