Draft:Florida brain drain
The Florida brain drain is the ongoing emigration of residents and academics from Florida to other U.S. states that started in the early 2020s.[1] Common reasons for Floridians for leaving their home state include the high cost of living, politics and controversial tenure track policy.[2][3] Georgia is the leading destination of Florida's former academics, followed by Texas, Ohio, and Tennessee.[1][4][5][6]
The term "brain drain" has been highly controversial with several conservative and right-wing media outlets vigorously denying any such brain drain exists.[7][8]
