eLIBRARY.ru (Russian: Научная электронная библиотека, lit. "Scientific Electronic Library"), also styled eLibrary, is a Russian open access and subscription digital library and bibliographic database of scientific publications. Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Moscow, it is the largest aggregator of Russian scientific literature and the primary infrastructure platform for academic publishing metrics in Russia.[1]
Overview
eLIBRARY.ru provides access to abstracts and full texts of more than 34 million scientific publications and patents, electronic editions of over 5,600 Russian scientific and technical journals, and more than 4,500 Russian scientific journals available in free open access.[2] Alongside free content, access to additional publications is available by institutional subscription or individual purchase.
Russian Science Citation Index
Since 2005, eLIBRARY.ru has developed and maintained the Russian Science Citation Index (Russian: Российский индекс научного цитирования, RSCI), a national bibliometric database tracking citations across Russian scholarly publications. The index covers over 1,000 top-tier Russian journals selected by eLIBRARY's editorial board based on citation analysis, with content spanning all major scientific disciplines.[3]
In October 2014, Thomson Reuters (now Clarivate) announced a collaboration with eLIBRARY.ru to integrate RSCI content into the Web of Science, making Russian research more visible within the global academic literature discovery platform.[4][5] The Russian Science Citation Index dataset within Web of Science went live in 2015.[4]
