Comment: User-generated sources such as social media and soundclick.com are not considered reliable. There is too much unreferenced content.I'm also not at all convinced that this is notable, but let's start by fixing the referencing issues first. DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:24, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
Dimitris Lambrianos
Dimitris Lambrianos is a Greek-American conductor, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and music educator.[1] He is the founder and conductor of the Sai Symphony Orchestra, India’s largest youth orchestra, and is known for his work in music education and cross-cultural musical collaboration. Trained in Europe and the United States, Lambrianos has performed and taught internationally and has been actively involved in nurturing young musicians from rural and underserved communities in India through the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Gurukulam group of institutions.[2]
Early Life and Education
Over the course of his development, he studied a broad range of musical disciplines and expanded his interests to include cross-cultural music studies. Lambrianos undertook advanced training in contemporary, electronic, and world music in Europe and the United States, and his work has been featured in programmes and festivals dedicated to modern musical practice.[3]
He also studied conducting and composition in New York, where he engaged with academic and performance communities.
Career beginnings and performance work
Lambrianos began performing internationally at an early age, appearing in concerts and recordings across Europe, the Middle East, India, Australia, Africa, and North America.
His work as a performer and composer spans multiple genres, including classical, jazz, and traditional forms, reflecting a broad musical background. He has been recognised for his contributions to contemporary music, receiving the 2004 Jack Kreiselman Award from the International Music Consortium for his activities as a performer, composer, and supporter of new music.[4]
His compositions and recordings are available on major digital platforms.[5]
Sai Symphony Orchestra and educational work
Lambrianos is the founder and conductor of the Sai Symphony Orchestra, a large youth orchestra based in India that brings Western orchestral music education to students from diverse and often underserved backgrounds.[6]
Under his guidance, the orchestra has performed at major events, including for visiting dignitaries and musicians. In June 2025, the orchestra performed for composer and music director A. R. Rahman during his visit to Sathya Sai Grama, earning praise for its ensemble quality and the transformational impact of its training programmes.[7] [8]
Lambrianos’s work with the Sai Symphony Orchestra has been part of broader initiatives that use music as a tool for community engagement and youth development, particularly among students from rural and marginalised communities in India.[9]
Collaborations and international projects
Beyond his primary educational work, Lambrianos has also conducted and collaborated with ensembles involved in international cultural projects. For example, he conducted large collaborative performances involving musicians from multiple countries at events connected to the One World One Family mission, demonstrating an emphasis on cross-cultural exchange through music.[10] [11][12][13][14][15]
One World One Family World Cultural Festival 2025 and Record-Breaking Concert
The One World One Family World Cultural Festival 2025 was a global celebration of culture, unity, and shared humanity held from 16 August to 23 November 2025 at Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, Karnataka, India. Organised by the One World One Family Mission as part of the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the festival brought together participants and performers from around 100 countries for a diverse programme of music, dance, spiritual discourse, cultural showcases, and humanitarian activities.
The event emphasised global unity, cultural exchange, and the shared values of service and peace across nations.[16]
A highlight of the festival was the One World One Family concert held near the close of the 100-day programme, which featured a large symphonic and choral performance bringing together over 450 musicians and choir members from more than 60 countries on a single stage.[17] This concert included the musicians and vocalists representing a wide range of cultural and musical traditions and was recognised by Guinness World Records for achieving the most nationalities represented in a choral symphony performance, marking a milestone in international musical collaboration.[18]
In addition to the musical record, the One World One Family World Cultural Festival 2025 itself set a Guinness World Records title for the longest cultural festival, spanning 100 consecutive days of performances, dialogues, and cultural events designed to foster mutual understanding and global harmony.[19]
These achievements were widely noted in media coverage and event documentation as exemplifying the festival’s scope and its aim to celebrate unity in diversity through shared artistic, spiritual, and humanitarian expression.
Recognition and impact
Lambrianos’s contributions to music performance and education have been recognised both in formal awards such as the Jack Kreiselman Award and through media and institutional acknowledgement of his role in leading India’s largest youth orchestra. His work reflects a commitment to using music as a bridge across cultures and communities.[20] In July 2024, Lambrianos was conferred an honourary doctorate in music by the Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence.[21]

Singing "Eleanor Rigby" at Sri Sathya Sai Cricket Stadium in Bangalore with India's largest youth orchestra (Sai Symphony Orchestra) conducted by Dimitris Lambrianos and representing the UK alongside 40+ countries onstage, and breaking a guinness world record in the process. Mind blown 🤯 What a thrill, honor and privilege to be part of such a unique event celebrating world unity, along with my first introduction to India as a country and the wonderful ashram that put this event on. Humbled to share the stage with such huge amounts of worldwide talent, an unbelievable experience. Also joined by Tom Fairbairn (violin), Sam McEvoy (percussion), Tom Phelon (Piano) and Philippe Barnes (Flute) who invited me out to do this with them, what a joy and what a huge surprise for my last international outing of 2025.
