Draft:Dave Parley

Dave Parley is a multi-instrumentalist, music producer, and DJ from Tijuana, Mexico,.[1] best known as a founding member of the "cholo-goth" duo Prayers.[2]

Early Career and Prayers

According to vocalist Rafael Reyes (Leafar Seyer), the band's name originated from a dream Parley[3]had while the two were driving from Los Angeles to San Diego[4].[5]

David Parley is a beat maker and music producer whose work blends darkwave, post-punk, and electronic music.[6] Parley gained recognition as the group's synthesizer player and producer, contributing to a sound that blends darkwave, post-punk, and electronic music with elements of Chicano street culture.[7] His production style has been described as incorporating dance-oriented electronic structures, somber atmospheric textures,[8]minimalist arrangements, and brooding tonal qualities.[9]

Performances

Parley has performed at major music festivals, including Coachella[10], Knotfest[11], Riot Fest[12], South by Southwest (SXSW)[13], and Afropunk[14]

Meldamor

Parley currently leads Meldamor, a darkwave duo with his wife, Mel Parley, based in Phoenix, Arizona[15]. The duo's music incorporates elements of darkwave, synth-driven post-punk, and metal influences.[16]

Collaborations and Production Work

Parley has worked with artists including Kat Von D[17] [18]on her debut album,[19] as well as with Travis Barker, Skinhead Rob,[20] Rikk Agnew, Gitane Demone, James Mcgearty of Christian Death,[21] and Foos Gone Wild.[22] He has also produced a remix for Twin Tribes.[23]
