Care Direct (Care Direct A.E.) is a Greek advertising and marketing agency specialising in direct, experiential and hybrid marketing programmes. Founded in 1995 by Yiannis Sotiropoulos, the company develops database-driven consumer-engagement programmes, sampling activations, digital platforms and omnichannel communication campaigns.[1] Over the years, the group has expanded into several European, Middle Eastern and African markets through local subsidiaries and partner operations.
History
Establishment (1995–1999)
Care Direct was founded in Athens, Greece, in 1995 with an initial focus on database management and direct-mail marketing.[2] In 1996 the company introduced a “Marketing to New Families” programme aimed at new mothers, implemented for consumer-goods companies including Procter & Gamble, FrieslandCampina and Unilever.[3] By the late 1990s Care Direct had created an in-house call centre of approximately 90 seats and established a dedicated fulfilment centre.[4]
Regional expansion (2000–2009)
In 2000 the company’s Greek warehouses were approved under Procter & Gamble’s Quality Assurance System.[5] International expansion began in 2001 with the formation of Care Direct SRL in Bucharest, Romania, listed as an advertising and marketing firm in Romanian business registries.[6]
Throughout the 2000s the group added operations in Serbia and Montenegro (later Serbia), Bulgaria, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Cyprus.[7] In 2006 the company built its corporate headquarters in Greece.[8]
Growth, MENA expansion and new services (2010–2019)
During the 2010s Care Direct expanded into South Africa, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.[9] A 2015 industry profile described the company as active in 18 markets across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.[10]
The company broadened its activities to include nursery and university sampling programmes, consulting in direct-to-consumer marketing and professional detailing services.[11] A university sampling brochure documents activations in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Sofia and Belgrade, totalling more than 200,000 distributed samples.[12]
Greek trade publications reported on Care Direct’s coupon-management and data-cleansing initiatives in titles such as *Self Service* and *Netweek*.[13][14]
Digital transformation and recent developments (2020–present)
In 2021 the company launched two digital platforms in Greece: Momtag, a nano-influencer platform for mothers, and MyParenthood, a parenting community with live educational sessions.[15] MyParenthood received a Gold award in the Online Services category at the Mother & Baby Awards 2021.[16]
In December 2023 Care Direct obtained ISO 27001:2013, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485 certifications from TÜV Austria Hellas, covering information security, communication and marketing services, and handling of medical technology products.[17]
Former markets include Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania.[18]
