Express International Inc. is a business process outsourcing (BPO) company headquartered in Georgetown, Guyana. The company provides customer support and administrative processing services, with clients primarily in the transportation and logistics sector.[1]

History

Express International Inc. was established in 2013 in Georgetown, Guyana, as part of the expansion of Express Trucking and Courier Inc., a New York–based freight company founded by Guyanese diaspora entrepreneur Ken Deocharran.[2]

By 2021, the company employed approximately 285 people at its Hadfield Street facility and announced plans for expansion.[2]

In 2022, Express International invested about GY$42 million in staff development, including COPC management training for supervisory and director-level personnel.[3][4]

Operations

Express International provides customer support, contact-centre services, and back-office processing for clients, including companies within the North American transportation sector.[1]

Government reports have identified the company as part of the expansion of Guyana’s business-process outsourcing industry.[2]

Training and certification

In 2022, twenty employees completed COPC customer-experience management training, with additional cohorts planned.[5] According to COPC Inc., the training formed part of the company’s long-term objective to pursue organizational COPC certification.[5]

Industry context

Guyana's government has promoted business-process outsourcing as part of its economic diversification efforts. During a 2021 site visit, the Senior Minister in the Office of the President with responsibility for finance referred to Express International as an example of diaspora-driven investment in the sector.[2]
