Bloomhaus
Bloomhaus is a contemporary band originating from Barcelona Spain, known for their distinctive blend of funk, indie, and soul influence.[1] The band was officially formed and spearheaded by lead vocalist Made Torrs.[2] Their sound is characterized by intricate basslines, energetic drumming, vibrant keyboard melodies, and the combination of leading vocals and joining guitar work.[3]
The core lineup of Bloomhaus comprises five musicians. Made Torres, the Band’s founder, is the lead vocalist and supporting her are: Albert Tissot (Guitar), Jordan Crow (bass), Leonard Kowalshy (keyboards), and Andreu Robusté (drums).[4]
Bloomhaus made their official entry into the music industry with the release of their debut single, "Thoughtless Feeling,” on June 23, 2023.[5] This first track took off, showcasing their ability to merge funk and indie-pop. Following this successful debut, they quickly released their second single, “Move Your Body,” in August 2023.[6] Both songs quickly became defining tracks for the band and rank among Bloomhaus’s most successful releases on digital platforms such as Spotify and YouTube. The band maintained a consistent release schedule in the first year, dropping a third single, “Over & Over,” in December 2023.[7] They continued this pattern in the following two years, curating their output before the release of their full-length album. In December 2024, they released the single “Right Time,” a track that received notable attention.[8] Rolling Stone magazine highlighted “Right Time,” praising it as a “refreshing song” from a “hidden gem” and recommending it as an essential track to “renew your playlist,”[9] boosting the band's visibility beyond the local Spanish circle. This was followed by the release of the single “Dreams” in March 2025.[10]
In April 2025 Bloomhaus released their debut studio album, Endless Hours.[11] The album marked a significant milestone for Bloomhaus, bringing together their distinct sound and establishing their place in the indie-funk music genre. The album features a total of eight tracks. It included two of their recently released and well-received singles, “Right Time” and “Dream,” alongside six entirely new compositions.[12] A notable aspect of the album’s production was the decision to record the majority of the material live. The sessions took place at the La Casamurada studio. Engineering duties for these sessions were handled by a collaborative team that included Arturo Torres and Jesús Rovira. The mixing and mastering for the final recording was done by Panii Badii.[13] To celebrate the release of Endless Hours, Bloomhaus performed a debut album release show in April 2025. The event was held at the Marula Café in Barcelona, Spain.[14]
Music Style
Bloomhaus's musical identity is an intricate blend that primarily draws upon the funk music of the 1970s blended with the sounds of modern indie rock.[15] This approach results in a nostalgic yet contemporary sound that has garnered critical recognition. The All Review noted the band's clear inspiration from internationally known musicians such as Jamiroquai, known for their acid jazz and funk, the psychedelic soul-funk of Khruangbin, and the progressive nu-jazz elements of Hiatus Kaiyote.[16]
Music journalists have praised their unique fusion. Musik unterm radar observed that "Bloomhaus create a nostalgic sound that seems familiar and new at the same time," highlighting their ability to bridge eras.[17] Furthermore, Bandcamp described Bloomhaus's output as being "both sophisticated and modern."[18] Viberate summarized their appeal by describing the music as featuring "poignant lyrics and catchy melodies,"[19] emphasizing the depth of their songwriting.
