Bella James (born 2001) is a British presenter and digital creator known for motorsport and automotive content. She is the host of the interview series Box Box with Bella, in which she interviews guests from motorsport, sport and entertainment while driving performance cars.
Early life and education
James grew up in St Albans, Hertfordshire. She attended Nottingham Trent University, where she studied Business. During her studies, she wrote her dissertation on the barriers to entry for women in Formula One, focusing on how sponsorship structures affect opportunities for women in motorsport.
While at university, James founded and became president of the university’s Formula One society, which grew to more than 400 members in its first year. During this time, she began creating motorsport-related content and conducting informal interviews, which later influenced her presenting career.
Career
James began creating content on YouTube in 2019 while still at university, producing motorsport and automotive-related content. After graduating, she chose to pursue content creation and presenting full time. During the early stages of her career, she also worked as an extra on film and television productions.
Her early content included public interviews at automotive and motorsport events. One of her early interview formats involved asking members of the public about their dream classic car, which gained traction online and contributed to the growth of her audience.
Box Box with Bella
In August 2025, James launched Box Box with Bella, an interview series filmed in cars and drive-through locations. The series features conversations with guests from motorsport, sport, entertainment and digital media, with a focus on informal and conversational interviews rather than traditional broadcast-style interviews.
Guests on the series have included former Formula One driver David Coulthard, automotive journalist and former Top Gear presenter Chris Harris, and YouTuber WillNE, among others. The series is filmed in various locations and typically involves driving segments combined with interview conversations.
Presenting and media work
In addition to her own digital series, James has hosted and presented at automotive and motorsport events and livestream broadcasts. These include presenting at the Polestar 5 launch event, hosting livestream coverage for the Formula 1 Academy premiere, and presenting at the Formula E Evo Sessions in 2026, which were broadcast live on YouTube.
James has interviewed figures from motorsport and entertainment including Kimi Antonelli, Oliver Bearman, Daniel Ricciardo, Christian Horner, Jack Whitehall, Chris Harris, David Coulthard and Lando Norris.
She has also appeared as a guest on media platforms and podcasts including talkSPORT, Think Like a Creator, Driven By Us, The Red Flags Podcast, and Back Seat Driver.
