Backyard Football 2002 is a 2001 American football video game developed by Humongous Entertainment and published by Infogrames. It is the second game in the Backyard Football series and the sixth Backyard Sports title overall. The game was ported to Game Boy Advance and GameCube in 2002.[1]
Development
In 2000, Humongous Entertainment announced a successor game to Backyard Football (entitled Backyard Football 2001), which was planned to be released later that year for the Game Boy Color and PlayStation along with successors to Backyard Baseball and Backyard Soccer.[2]
Promotion
Around as the same time as the ports for both the GameCube and Game Boy Advance ports, a live action/animated hour-long TV special called NFL Backyard Basics: Football Tips from the Pros aired on CBS and Nickelodeon Games and Sports for Kids.[3] The special featured football players, Donovan McNabb, Tony Gonzalez, Terrell Davis, Marcellus Wiley, Martin Gramatica, and Bill Gramatica.[4]
