History
The platform launched in 2020 under the name BitYard as a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange.[1]
In 2023, the company rebranded as BYDFi.[2]
In 2024, the company began publishing proof of reserves reports audited by Hacken.[3]
In 2025, BYDFi introduced an on-chain trading platform known as MoonX supporting networks including Solana, BNB Chain, and Base.[4]
In August 2025, Newcastle United announced a sponsorship agreement with BYDFi.[5][6]
Regulatory status
BYDFi operates through entities registered as money services businesses with the United States Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN)[7] and the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC).[8]
