Ashish Chanchlani (born 8 December 1993) is an Indian YouTuber, actor, writer, director, producer and entrepreneur.[3] He is known for his comedy channel on YouTube named ashish chanchlani vines. He made his acting debut in Pyar Tune Kya Kiya (2016) and directorial debut in web series with Ekaki (2025).[4]

Early life and education

Ashish Chanchlani was born on December 8, 1993, in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra into a Sindhi family.[5][6] He was born to Anil Chanchlani, who runs a local cinema hall called Ashok Multiplex, and Deepa Chanchlani, who works as a financial analyst.[6] His sister Muskan Chanchlani is also a YouTuber.[7] Ashish completed his education in civil engineering from Datta Meghe College of Engineering in Navi Mumbai.[7]

Career

Ashish Chanchlani began his digital career by creating six-second videos on Vine.[8][5] Before turning into a full-time content creator, he worked as a movie reviewer, with one of his early reviews being for the Bollywood film Roy.[5][9] After completing his graduation,[10] he joined the Barry John Acting Studio in Mumbai to formally train in acting.[11][12] Chanchlani created his YouTube channel Ashish Chanchlani Vines in 2009, although he did not upload his first video until December 2014.[7]

Chanchlani achieved the 10 million subscriber milestone on his Youtube Channel in 2019. By 2020, Chanchlani became the third Indian YouTuber to cross 20 million subscribers.[13] In April that year, he appeared in the collaborative music video The Lockdown Rap alongside Bhuvan Bam and Prajakta Koli, inspired by the song “Asli Hip Hop” from the film Gully Boy (2019).[14] He also featured in the experimental short films Aakhri Safar and The Dealer under the banner ACV Hatke, and later collaborated with Bam again in the film Asli HoliBaaz.[15][16] After a three-year long break from Youtube, Chanchlani made his directorial debut with the sci-fi comedy web series Ekaki. The series recived mixed reviews and crossed over 160 million views on Youtube.

The following year, he appeared in the web series Class of 2017.

On 9 December 2021, his sketch The Loan Scam premiered on Amazon miniTV.[17]

In July 2025, he featured opposite Elli AvrRam in the music video Chandaniya.[18]

India's Got Latent controversy (2025)

On 10 February 2025, Chanchlani appeared on the comedy-talent show India's Got Latent. Certain remarks made during the show, particularly by Ranveer Allahbadia, faced online criticism, following which the Guwahati Police registered an FIR against him and other participants.[19][20]

The following day, the Maharashtra Police also filed a case involving multiple individuals.[21] On 8 March 2025, the Gauhati High Court granted him interim bail.[22]

Philanthropy

Chanchlani donated ₹3 lakh to the PM CARES Fund during the COVID-19 crisis and also helped flood-hit areas by giving ₹1 lakh each to the Assam and Bihar Chief Minister's Relief Funds.[39]
