Ammify is an Australian cinematic metal duo formed in Perth, Western Australia, in 2023. The group consists of lead vocalist and keytarist Anne-Marie Phoenix and multi-instrumentalist and producer Peter Renzullo. The band's sound, which they describe as "CineMetal," incorporates elements of alternative metal, progressive rock, and orchestral arrangements.
History
The members of Ammify first collaborated in 2017 before officially forming the duo in 2023. In May 2024, the band signed a distribution and recording deal with the international label Wormholedeath Records.[1]
Following the signing, Ammify released their debut studio album, Lost, Not Hiding, on June 14, 2024. The album's release was preceded by several singles, including "Coward's Way Out" and "The Truth Will Set You Free," featuring music videos[2] produced by Scudley Films.
Ammify collaborated with Wormholedeath for the global marketing and digital distribution of their music, enhancing their reach across Europe, the US, Japan, and Australia.
Style
Critics have described Ammify's sound as a blend of alternative metal and progressive rock, often categorized under the band's self-applied label 'CineMetal'.

Reception
The debut album Lost, Not Hiding received coverage from several international heavy metal and progressive rock publications. BraveWords[3] described the group's signing to Wormholedeath as a "cinematographic metal discovery," noting the duo's blend of orchestral and metal elements.
German music outlet PowerMetal.de[4] reviewed the album, highlighting its atmospheric production and the vocal performance of Anne-Marie Phoenix. Additional European coverage included reviews from Hellfire-Magazin[5] and Vampster, which categorized the band's sound within the "CineMetal" subgenre. In Australia, the album and its singles were featured by the Western Australian music publication Around the Sound.
In 2025, the duo composed the soundtrack for the short film Return to Elenore, directed by Jay Jegathesan. The film, featuring the Ammify track 'The King Of Always Wanting More,' was awarded 'Best Ghost Story' at the 12th Sahar International Short Film Festival.
