Racing career

2024: Two-year-old season

Alohi Alii's first race would be a 2-year-old maiden race (turf 2000m) at Tokyo Racecourse on November 2, where he ridden by Keita Tosaki. He was the favourite in the betting. Staying behind the leading group during the race, he pulled ahead in the straight and won by two and a half lengths over the second-place finisher, Divertisman.[1]

2025: Three-year-old season

On January 6, he entered the 7th race for 3-year-olds with one previous win at Nakayama Racecourse as the favourite. In the straight, he ran up the slope alongside Go So Far, but was defeated by three-quarters of a length, finishing second[5].

On March 9, he ran in the Yayoi Sho (Deep Impact Kinen) with Kazuo Yokoyama as the jockey, entering as the 5th favourite. He finished third behind Faust Lazen and earned priority entry to the Satsuki Sho. After the race, Yokoyama said:

'The difficulties I expected before the race emerged. Even so, he gave his all. I ran a somewhat rough race, but he pushed himself this far, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses. I’m looking forward to the next race.'

Afterwards, he ran in the Satsuki Sho on April 20 as the 11th favourite, finishing 8th behind Museum Mile[7]. After the race, Yokoyama commented, 'He was unsettled and wavered when a strong horse came from outside,' but added, 'Even so, he recovered well in the straight,' praising his performance[8].

He had aimed for the Grand Prix de Paris on July 13 but announced on June 4 that he would withdraw due to health reasons[9]. He then decided on July 2 to change his target and enter the Prix Guillaume d'Ornano with Christophe Lemaire as the jockey[10].

On August 16, at the Prix Guillaume d'Ornano, Alohi Alii boldly took the lead and broke away from the rest in the straight to record a decisive victory. With this victory, he achieved his first graded win overseas.
