ADELTA is a Japanese dōjin circle founded in 2014, mainly known in creating Boys' love visual novels. The circle is led by Rinko Kurosawa, who handles scenario writing, illustration, background art, and movie sequences.[1] They are primarily known for works such as Hashihime of the Old Book Town and Ooe.[2][3]
History
ADELTA began as writer-artist Rinko Kurosawa, who handled scenario, illustration and many production duties fro the circle's releases, released Cocoon, in 2014, followed up with a direct sequel released the same year, Cocoon BN -Black Noise-; the circle sold packaged copies at shops and later made digital versions available.[4][5]
In 2016, ADELTA achieved broader recognition with the release of their second game, Hashihime of the Old Book Town,[2] the title gained strong attention for its surreal writing and distinctive artstyle. A 17+ PlayStation Vita port of the game called Hashihime of the Old Book Town append was released exclusively to Japan, later followed by a Nintendo Switch release in 2021, localised in English and Chinese, published by Dramatic Create.[6][7] It features additional content that were originally available on the official website now fully voiced.[8][9]
Following Hashihime, ADELTA would later release UuultraC, in 2020.[10][11] Around the same period, ADELTA established another dōjin circle mainly focused on producing audio works for all ages called ADELTA:M.[12] In 2021, ADELTA announced its next major title, Ooe, via its official blog.[13] In 2024, ADELTA released a trial version of the game, which then later followed up with the complete edition of the game, in 2025.[3]
English localisation
On 2017, MangaGamer announced they had acquired the rights to localise Hashihime of the Old Book Town in English and Chinese, it was later published in 2019, on Steam and their official website.[14][15] They would later be responsible for localising and selling ADELTA's further titles in overseas such as UuultraC and Ooe.[16][17]
