ACTAsia is an education-focused charity working across Asia to promote compassion for animals, people and the environment [1]. Its activities centre on humane education, public awareness and collaboration with other international organisations, with the aim of bringing about sustainable social change [2]
Beginnings
ACTAsia was founded by Pei-Feng Su in 2006[3]. Pei Su was born in Taiwan, but now lives in Buckinghamshire, UK (3). She previously worked for various animal charities across the world such as World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA), carrying out covert undercover investigations into wildlife issues, farming, captive animals, and companion animals. [4]
Caring for Life
ACTAsia’s education programme, Caring for Life (CfL) has been taught to over 500,000 children aged 6-12 across China (1). It aims to nurture empathy and demonstrates how all life is interconnected, encouraging compassion and responsibility. [5] The CfL programme has been awarded UNESCO best practise. [6]
