Clock it
Clock it, often known as Clock that tea, is an Vulgar slang word for people who is telling something that it’s a truth or unspoken reality. The physics of the slang is the hand gesture, where they use theirs finger and their thumb and tapping index the finger and the thumb together. It’s use for a girls slang.
History
Clock it was originated in the mid-20th century and Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ ballroom scene in New York City. It was organized on a TikTok trend that it was evolved to hide secrets. Signify agreeing with a sharp observation of realizing an hidden truth.
Social Media Trend
In 2025, TikTok gained significantly through the slang, which leads multiple videos to upload. The slang starts off with people on TikTok use their hand gesture, where they use their finger and thumb, tapping index the finger and thumb together and then saying Clock it.[1] The slang gained heavily into social media platforms, including Twitter, YouTube, primarily Instagram. The use the word in a "freaky voice". They also use another slang Clock that tea.[2]
