Το postmarketOS είναι διανομή GNU/Linux σχεδιασμένη για κινητές συσκευές. Είναι βασισμένη στο Alpine Linux (μια διανομή μικρή σε μέγεθος και με έμφαση στην ασφάλεια) και, εκτός από την εκτεταμένη υποστήριξη ασφαλείας, επιτρέπει στον χρήστη να χρησιμοποιεί το γραφικό περιβάλλον της επιλογής του. Η κοινότητα του postmarketOS στοχεύει στη δημιουργία μιας ελαφριάς διανομής Linux, η οποία θα δέχεται επιδιορθώσεις ασφαλείας για δέκα χρόνια.[2][3]
