Gulfstream G550

Το επιστημονικό αεροσκάφος HALO (αγγλ: High Altitude and Long Range Research Aircraft, Ερευνητικό αεροσκάφος μεγάλου υψομέτρου και μακράς εμβέλειας) εξυπηρετεί την επιστημονική εξερεύνηση της γήινης ατμόσφαιρας. Πρόκειται για αναβαθμισμένο ιδιωτικό αεροπλάνο τύπου Gulfstream G550. Θα πραγματοποιήσει μετρήσεις στην τροπόσφαιρα και στην κατώτερη στρατόσφαιρα. Θα πετάει σε ύψος 15.000 μέτρων και θα μεταφέρει φορτίο μέχρι τριών τόνων. Η εμβέλεια του θα φτάνει τα 8.000 χιλιόμετρα. Η βάση του θα είναι το Γερμανικό κέντρο Αεροπορίας και Διαστημικών Πτήσεων, το DLR στην πόλη Όμπερπφάφενχόφεν της Γερμανίας.
