Chillwave

Η μουσική Chillwave, γνωστή και ως glo-fi, είναι ένα είδος indie ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής που γεννήθηκε στα μέσα της δεκαετίας του 2000 στις Η.Π.Α. Διακρίνεται από τη χρήση πολλών ηχητικών επεξεργασμένων εφέ, συνθεσάιζερ, επαναλαμβανόμενων μουσικών φράσεων (looping), ηχητικών δειγμάτων (sampling) και έντονων φιλτραρισμένων φωνητικών με απλές μελωδικές γραμμές.

Το όνομα στο είδος λέγεται ότι έδωσε ο blogger και dj του Hipster Runoff με το ψευδώνυμο Carles. Αναφέρεται στην επιρροή των μουσικών από new wave, 80s kitsch και synthpop μέσα από μία πιο lo-fi οπτική γωνία.[1] Η συγκεκριμένη μουσική συνδυάζει τις μουσικές τάσεις των 2000s με την 80s αισθητική.

Ενδεικτικά, καλλιτέχνες της chillwave είναι οι Washed Out, Neon Canyon, Twintapes, Twin Sister, Brothertiger, Neon Indian, Toro Y Moi, Small Black, Memory Tapes , Dickrave και πολλοί άλλοι.
