Η Applescript είναι γλώσσα προγραμματισμού σεναρίων που δημιουργήθηκε από την εταιρία Apple και φτιάχτηκε σε Mac OS (Macintosh) το 1993. Είναι μια απλή γλώσσα, που μοιάζει πολύ με την Αγγλική γλώσσα.

Παράδειγμα

Ακολουθεί ένα πρόγραμμα σε Applescript που εμφανίζει ένα παράθυρο με το μήνυμα "Hello World": 

display dialog "Hello World!" -- παράθυρο με κουμπιά "Ok" και "Cancel"
-- ή
display alert "Hello World!"  -- παράθυρο με ένα κουμπί "Ok"
-- ή
say "Hello World!" -- ηχητικό μήνυμα που χρησιμοποιεί συνθετική φωνή του υπολογιστή
