Der Waterloo-Helm, auch Waterloo Bridge-Helm ist eine Schutzwaffe aus England.

Beschreibung

Der Waterloo-Helm besteht aus einer Kupferlegierung. Er wurde 1860 in der Themse nahe der Waterloo Bridge gefunden. Die Helmglocke ist schalenförmig, an der Glocke sind zwei Hörner aus Bronzeblech angebracht, nur eines ist erhalten. Die Oberfläche der Helmglocke ist mit Figuren und Mustern im Hochrelief und vielen Ziernieten verziert. Eine Verzierung aus rotem Glas ist nicht erhalten. Gemeinsam mit dem Helm wurde der Battersea-Schild gefunden, der ebenfalls rituellen oder religiösen Zwecken diente.[1] Der Helm mit der Inventarnummer „Pⅇ 1988 10-4 1“ wird im British Museum in London ausgestellt.
