Thoe ist eine Gattung der Krabben aus der Familie Mithracidae mit drei Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone (intertidal) und den Schelf in einer Tiefe zwischen 0 und 27 m im tropischen Westatlantik und im tropischen Ostpazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 16 mm lang, glatt, birnenförmig und länger als breit. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit Körnern und niedrigen Höckern bewehrt, manchmal an der hinteren Ecke mit einem kleinen Zahn. Das Rostrum (mittiger Stirnfortsatz) besteht aus zwei, teilweise verschmolzenen Zähnen. Die Augenhöhle beschützt den Augenstiel von oben nicht, ein Voraugendorn fehlt. Das basale Antennenglied kann bis zu zwei vordere Zähne oder Lappen tragen, die von oben sichtbar sind. Der Innenrand des Merus des dritten Maxillipeden ist kurz, die Palpe sitzt am schrägen Rand. Die Meri der ersten drei Schreitbeine sind flach und haben am Unterrand eine lamellenartige Erweiterung.[2]

Die Gattung umfasst folgende Arten:[1]

Synonyme sind Platypes Lockington, 1877 und Thoë Bell, 1836.[1]
