Telmessus ist eine Gattung der Krabben mit zwei Arten.[1] Sie kommen in der Gezeiten- und Schelfzone in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 180 m im Nordpazifik vor.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax von Telmessus wird maximal 83 mm lang. Er ist breiter als lang und fünfeckig. Die Seitenränder sind mit zusammengesetzten Zähnen bewaffnet. Die Schreitbeine haben keine Dornen.[2]

Systematik

Die beiden Arten der Gattung sind:[1]

Synonyme sind Cheiragonus Brandt, 1851 und Platycorystes Brandt, 1848.[1]
