Succus

Succus (lateinisch für „Saft“; Plural Succi), auch Sucus oder eingedeutscht Sukkus, ist ein Begriff, der heutzutage vor allem im pharmazeutischen oder allgemeinmedizinischen Bereich Anwendung findet.[1][2] Im pharmazeutischen Kontext bezeichnet er einen zu Heilzwecken verwendeten Pflanzensaft,[3] insbesondere einen eingedickten[4] Saft. Succus bezieht sich nicht auf die inhaltliche Zusammensetzung.

In Österreich bedeutet das Wort in der Alltagssprache die Essenz, das Wesentliche einer Sache.
