Spiroxys ist eine Gattung der Rollschwänze mit 19 Arten. Es ist die einige Gattung in der Unterfamilie Spiroxyinae.[1] Sie sind Parasiten bei Amphibien, Schlangen und Wasserschildkröten.[2.1]
Merkmale
Kennzeichen der Unterfamilie und Gattung sind das Fehlen einer keulenartigen Auftreibung des Kopfes wie bei den Gnathostomatinae und das Fehlen der langen, verzweigten Anhänge der Pseudolippen wie bei den Ancyracanthinae.[2.2]
