Soliloquy

Soliloquy (lat. solus = allein; loqui = sprechen) bezeichnet:

  • im Englischen den Monolog, vor allem im Zusammenhang mit dem Theater; der lateinische Begriff wurde vermutlich von Augustinus in seiner Bekenntnisschrift Soliloquiorum libri duo als Lehnübersetzung des griechischen μονόλογος monólogos geprägt.
