Sendafa (Oromo: Sandafaa) ist eine Stadt und eigenständige Woreda in der Region Oromia in Äthiopien.
Beschreibung
Ihr Name leitet sich vom Oromo-Begriff für eine Art dickes, verzweigtes Gras oder Schilf ab, das in sumpfigen Gebieten wächst. Sendafa liegt in der Sonderzone Oromia um Finfinne in der Region Oromia und hat die Koordinaten 9°09′N 39°02′E bei einer Höhe von 2514 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel. Die Stadt liegt an der asphaltierten Autobahn Addis Abeba – Adigrat, etwa 38 Kilometer nördlich der Hauptstadt. Die Einwohnerzahl beträgt 25.000.[1]
Die Gegend wird aufgrund seiner Lage als Trainingsgebiet zum Höhentraining vom NN Running Team genutzt.[2]
