Rudong

Rudong (如东县, Rúdōng Xiàn) ist ein chinesischer Kreis der bezirksfreien Stadt Nantong in der Provinz Jiangsu. Er hat eine Fläche von 1.733 km² und zählt 995.983 Einwohner (Stand: Zensus 2010).[1] Sein Hauptort ist die Großgemeinde Juegang (掘港镇).

Die Ein-Kind-Politik wurde in Rudong früher als in anderen Teilen der Volksrepublik China eingeführt und im Jahr 2023 ist Rudong die Region mit der ältesten Bevölkerung in China: Fast 39 % der Bevölkerung sind 60 Jahre oder älter, verglichen mit 18,7 % im Landesdurchschnitt.[2][3]

Auf Gemeindeebene setzt sich der Kreis aus fünfzehn Großgemeinden zusammen.
