Proximity
Proximity bzw. Wortabstand bezeichnet bei der computergestützten Suche nach komplexen Inhalten (Information Retrieval) den Abstand, den zwei Wörter in einem Text haben. Mithilfe von Proximity-Operatoren (Wortabstandsoperatoren) kann eine Suchanfrage dahingehend, wie weit zwei Suchwörter im Text entfernt stehen dürfen, eingeschränkt werden. Damit lässt sich die Präzision einer Suche erhöhen.
Beispiel für Operatoren
Zur Festlegung des Abstands: wort1 WITHIN "m" "units" OF wort2
- (unit = Zeichen, Wort, Satz, Absatz...)
- Reihenfolgeoperatoren: BEFORE, AFTER
- Adjazenzoperator: wort1 ADJACENT wort2
- wort2 muss direkt nach wort1 stehen
