Potamonemus ist eine Gattung von Süßwasserkrabben aus der Familie der Potamonautidae mit drei Arten.[1] Sie sind in Nigeria und Kamerun endemisch.[2]

Merkmale

Die Gattung hat die Merkmale der Liberonautinae. Der Exopodit des dritten Maxillipeden ist ohne Geißel. Die Palpe der Mandibel ist zweigliedrig, ihr Endglied einfach gebaut und ungeteilt. Die Naht zwischen den thorakalen Sterniten S2/3 ist unvollständig und nur in Form zweier Kerben an der Seite des Sternums im Bereich der Basis der Scherenbeine ausgeprägt. Das Endglied des ersten Gonopodiums ist auswärts gebogen und weist an der Hinterseite eine Längsrinne auf. Das Endglied des zweiten Gonopoden ist sehr kurz, es hat lediglich 10 % der Länge des vorletzten Gliedes.[3]
