Pentade

Pentade (griech.: Fünfheit) ist eine Bezeichnung für eine Fünfergruppe oder etwas, das fünf Bestandteile hat. Damit kann bezeichnet werden:

  • einer der 72 Gradabschnitte des Tierkreises zu je 5°, siehe Halbdekan
  • ein Zeitraum von i. d. R. fünf Tagen bei der Einteilung des Jahres in 73 (durchnummerierte) Abschnitte, vor allem für biologische Daten benutzt; die 12. Pentade ist in Schaltjahren sechs Tage lang, siehe Pentadenkalender
  • ein Wort für einen Teil – insbesondere antiker – schriftlicher Werke mit fünf Unterabschnitten, z. B. bei Quintus Curtius Rufus
  • Bezeichnung für je fünf – nach Meinung einiger Wissenschaftler – zusammengehörige Bücher bei Livius, als Unterteilung analog zu Dekaden (10 Bücher)
  • narrative Pentade, ein Analyseansatz, der erzählerische Werke im Hinblick auf Handelnden (Akteur), Handlung (Aktion), Ziel/Intention, Szene und Instrument hin untersucht
