Nyamunga ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Rorya in der tansanischen Region Mara.

Geografie

Nyamunga ist ein gemischter Bezirk in der Seezone im Norden von Tansania. Er liegt rund 10 Kilometer Luftlinie nordöstlich der Regionshauptstadt Musoma auf einer Halbinsel im Victoriasee.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 21.662 Menschen in 4931 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von 53 Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Norden, Westen und im Süden an den Victoriasee und sonst an zwei Bezirke des Distrikts Rorya:[5]

Der Bezirk besteht aus vier Gemeinden (Swahili Mtaa) mit 17 Orten (Swahili Kitongoji):[6]

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Es gibt eine weiterführende Schule im Bezirk.[7] Die Nyamunga Secondary School ist eine staatliche Schule, die Knaben bis zur 4. Stufe ausbildet.[8]
  • Gesundheitseinrichtungen: In der Gemeinde Kinesi[9] liegt ein staatliches Gesundheitszentrum, in Kibuyi eine staatliche[10] und eine private[11] Ambulanz.
  • Elektrizität, Wasser: Von den 5245 Gebäuden im Bezirk haben 1324 einen Stromanschluss von Tanesco, 1191 beziehen Strom aus anderen Quellen wie Solarzellen und Generatoren. In 547 Gebäuden gibt es einen Wasseranschluss (Stand 2022).[12]
  • Gebäudenutzung: Von den 260 Gebäuden, die nicht für Wohnzwecke genutzt werden, sind 91 Geschäftslokale, 57 öffentliche Gebäude wie Schulen und Gesundheitseinrichtungen, 51 Warenlager, 15 Gewerbebetriebe, gehören 15 religiösen Gemeinschaften, sind 18 Gästehäuser, 17 Bürogebäude, 6 Hotels und eines ist eine industrielle Anlage (Stand 2022).[13]
