Die Neoaves sind eine systematische Gruppe innerhalb der Vögel (Aves). Sie umfasst alle modernen Vögel (Aves bzw. Neornithes) unter Ausnahme der Palaeognathae und der Galloanserae.[1] Die Gruppe wird im PhyloCode von George Sangster und Kollegen (2022) definiert als „die am stärksten inklusive Kronenklade, die Passer domesticus, aber nicht Gallus gallus enthält“.[2] Fast 95 % der etwa 10.000 bekannten rezenten Vogelarten zählen zu den Neoaves.[3]
