NGC 7253 ist ein interagierendes Galaxienpaar im Sternbild Pegasus. Sie ist schätzungsweise 220 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt. Die beiden Galaxien werden auch als NGC 7253A und NGC 7253B bezeichnet und bilden das interaktive Galaxienpaar Arp 278. Halton Arp gliederte seinen Katalog ungewöhnlicher Galaxien nach rein morphologischen Kriterien in Gruppen. Dieses Galaxienpaar gehört zu der Klasse Wechselwirkende Doppelgalaxien.

Das Objekt wurde am 9. September 1863 von Albert Marth entdeckt.[4]
