NGC 7177 ist eine aktive Balken-Spiralgalaxie mit ausgedehnten Sternentstehungsgebieten vom Hubble-Typ SBb im Sternbild Pegasus am Nordsternhimmel. Sie ist schätzungsweise 60 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 45.000 Lichtjahren.

Die Supernovae SN 1960L und SN 1976E wurden hier beobachtet.[5]

Das Objekt wurde am 15. Oktober 1784 von dem Astronomen William Herschel mit seinem 18,7-Zoll-Spiegelteleskop entdeckt und später von Johan Dreyer in seinen New General Catalogue aufgenommen.[6]
