NGC 585 ist eine Spiralgalaxie vom Hubble-Typ Sa im Sternbild Walfisch, welche etwa 244 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt ist.

Das Objekt wurde am 20. Dezember 1827 von dem britischen Astronomen John Frederick William Herschel entdeckt.[5]
