NGC 4199 ist eine elliptische Galaxie vom Hubble-Typ E im Sternbild Großer Bär am Nordsternhimmel. Sie ist schätzungsweise 809 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt. Gemeinsam mit PGC 200285 (auch NGC 4199-2) bildet sie ein gravitativ gebundenes Galaxienpaar.

Das Objekt wurde am 17. April 1789 von Wilhelm Herschel entdeckt.[3]
