Mwantini ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Shinyanga in der tansanischen Region Shinyanga.

Geografie

Mwantini ist ein ländlicher Bezirk im Nordwesten von Tansania, er liegt etwa 20 Kilometer Luftlinie westlich der Regionshauptstadt Shinyanga.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 10.782 Menschen in 1695 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von 96 Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Osten an den Distrikt Shinyanga (MC) und sonst an sechs Bezirke des Distrikts Shinyanga.[5]

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Im Bezirk gibt es eine weiterführende Schule.[7] Die Mwantini Secondary School ist eine staatliche Schule, die Jugendliche bis zur 4. Stufe ausbildet.[8] Das Verhältnis Buch:Schüler ist 1:4 für naturwissenschaftliche Bücher und 1:6 für geisteswissenschaftliche Bücher.[9]
  • Gesundheitseinrichtungen: In den Gemeinden Kilimawe[10] und Mishepo[11] liegt je eine staatliche Apotheke.
  • Gebäude: Von den 1938 Gebäuden im Bezirk haben neun einen Stromanschluss von Tanesco, 1009 beziehen Strom aus anderen Quellen wie Solarzellen und Generatoren. 81 Gebäude besitzen einen Wasseranschluss (Stand 2022).[12]
