Morotonga ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Serengeti in der tansanischen Region Mara.

Geografie

Morotonga ist ein gemischter Bezirk im Norden von Tansania. Er umfasst den südlichen Teil der Distrikthauptstadt Mugumu und dessen Vororte.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 5495 Menschen in 1235 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von 18 Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt an fünf Bezirke des Distrikts Serengeti:

Gliederung

Der Bezirk besteht aus drei Orten (Swahili Kitongoji):[5]

  • Seronga
  • Mutukura
  • Romakendo

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Es gibt zwei weiterführende Schulen im Bezirk.[6] Die Mugumu Secondary School[7] ist eine staatliche Schule, die Twibhoki Secondary School[8] wird privat geführt. Beide bieten eine Ausbildung bis zur 4. Stufe an.
  • Elektrizität, Wasser: Von den 1761 Gebäuden im Bezirk haben 576 einen Stromanschluss von Tanesco, 320 beziehen Strom aus anderen Quellen wie Solarzellen und Generatoren. In 352 Gebäuden gibt es einen Wasseranschluss (Stand 2022).[9]
  • Gebäudenutzung: Von den 109 Gebäuden, die nicht zu Wohnzwecken genutzt werden, sind 50 Geschäftslokale, 23 öffentliche Gebäude wie Schulen und Gesundheitseinrichtungen, 11 Bürogebäude, 8 Ferienhäuser, 8 Gewerbebetriebe, gehören 7 religiösen Gemeinschaften, sind 3 Hotels und 3 Lagerhäuser (Stand 2022).[10]
