Missing Andy war eine fünfköpfige britische Pop- und Rock-Band. Bekannt wurde sie durch ihre Teilnahme an der ersten Staffel der Talentshow Must Be the Music des privaten Fernsehsenders Sky1.

Mitglieder

Zur Band gehörten Alex Greaves (Gesang), Steve Greenwood (Gitarre), Rob Jones (Bass), Jon Sharpe (Keyboard) und Elliot Richardson (Schlagzeug).[2]

Bandgeschichte

Die Band wurde 2008 von den aus Essex stammenden Musikern gegründet. Sie trat unter anderem neben den Pigeon Detectives und The Wombats beim Festival South by Southwest in Austin (Texas) auf. 2010 nahm Missing Andy an der ersten Staffel der Talentshow Must Be the Music teil, wo sie bis ins Finale kamen, das jedoch Emma’s Imagination gewann. Missing Andys Debütsingle The Way We’re Made sowie Sing for the Deaf gelangten im gleichen Jahr kurzzeitig in die UK Top 40. 2011 brachte die Band das Debütalbum Generation Silenced heraus und tourte durch UK und andere europäische Länder. 2013 erschien das Doppelalbum Guerrilla Invasion Parts 1 & 2 und es folgte eine weitere Tour.[2] Die letzte Single von Missing Andy, The Greatest Show on Earth, erschien 2020. 2023 gab die Band ihre Auflösung nach 15 Jahren bekannt.[3]
