Medincell SA ist ein französisches Unternehmen der Biopharmazie mit Hauptsitz in Jacou.

Das Unternehmen ist auf die Entwicklung von langwirksamen injizierbaren Medikamenten spezialisiert. Das Geschäftsmodell basiert auf der Lizenzierung dieser Technologie an globale Pharmakonzerne. Das Unternehmen wurde unter anderem auch von der Europäischen Investitionsbank finanziert.[1]

Geschichte

Medincell wurde im Jahr 2003 gegründet und baute auf den Forschungsarbeiten des CNRS-Labors von Professor Michel Vert in Montpellier auf. Dies führte zur Entwicklung der ersten Generation der unternehmenseigenen BEPO-Technologie.[2]

Im Jahr 2013 wurde eine erste Kooperation mit Teva vereinbart.[2]

Nach erfolgreichen ersten klinischen Studien und dem Ausbau strategischer Partnerschaften folgte im Jahr 2018 der Börsengang an der Euronext Paris.[3][4]

2023 erreichte das Unternehmen mit der US-Zulassung des Schizophrenie-Medikaments UZEDY die erste kommerzielle Markteinführung eines eigens entwickelten Medikaments.[5]
