Mastika aus Bulgarien

Mastika (bulgarisch Мастика; mazedonisch Мастика) ist eine dem Ouzo und Rakı ähnliche Spirituose, die in Bulgarien und Nordmazedonien produziert wird. Obwohl die Namensbezeichnung darauf hindeuten würde, enthält sie notabene keinen Mastix – Geschmacksbestimmende Komponente ist hingegen der Anis.

Der Alkoholgehalt des Getränks liegt in Bulgarien laut Gesetz bei mindestens 47 Vol.-%; wie auch beim Pastis wird Mastika zumeist mit Eiswasser verdünnt serviert. Als Grundlage für den Destillationsprozess werden vorwiegend Feigen, Pflaumen oder Zwetschgen genutzt.
